On March 20，at Guangdong Zhaoqing Power Plant of CHN Energy, the third unit of Phase II gas-fired project completed a high-standard 168-hour full-load trial run and officially commenced commercial operation.

As a key construction project jointly identified by CHN Energy and Guangdong Province, the Zhaoqing Power Plant Phase II gas-fired project comprises two 500MW gas-steam combined cycle power generation units. The project features a one-on-one split-shaft configuration for its gas-steam combined cycle units, with each unit consisting of one gas turbine generator, one steam turbine generator, one heat recovery steam generator (HRSG), and supporting systems.

Upon full completion and operation, the project is expected to increase annual power generation by 3.8 billion kWh and heat supply by 6.3 million GJ, which is equivalent to saving approximately 651,600 tons of standard coal annually. Additionally, it will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1.479 million tons per year, achieve zero sulfur dioxide emissions, and maintain ultra-low nitrogen oxide emissions. These outcomes are of great significance for optimizing the regional energy structure and advancing green, low-carbon development.
