On Mar.19th, Mr. Aung Than Oo, Myanmar's Minister of Electricity and Energy visited SEPCO1's Kyauk Phyu Gas-fired Combined Cycle Power Station Project to attend the celebration ceremony for the positioning of SGT-800 gas turbine. The Kyauk Phyu Gas-fired Power Station EPC project is not only the first gas-fired project invested and constructed by POWERCHINA in Myanmar, but also the first project to which Siemens has supplied the new efficient SGT-800 gas turbine in Myanmar. The successful installation of SGT-800 gas turbine has laid a solid foundation for putting the project into operation by the end of 2022. Mr. Aung Than Oo offered his congratulations on the successful installation of Siemens SGT-800 gas turbine and appreciated SEPCO1’s site team overcoming COVID-19 challenges and expediting implementation of the project. Mr. Aung Than Oo pointed out that the Project ranks first among projects of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy for Myanmar's electric power increment in 2022. The issues encountered during the project implementation such as water intake pipeline crossing truss and gas pipeline construction will be promptly resolved. He also appraised the all-out efforts by the site team in pushing forward the implementation of the project, reiterated the importance of successful operation in providing high-quality power supply for the People of Myanmar; and finally welcomed further contributions in the development of the Kyauk Phyu Special Economic Zone and the Belt and Road Initiative.
